Supportive Culture | Varied Projects | Clear Development Path

You’ve got a few years under your belt — now you’re ready for more.

This role is designed for an intermediate to senior civil engineer who wants to grow; technically, professionally, and personally. You’ll be part of our Christchurch team, contributing to meaningful projects across the country and taking ownership of your work from day one.

Our client is big on practical solutions and even bigger on backing their people. If you’re looking for variety, mentorship, and the chance to shape your own career, this is a great time to come on board.

Be part of an inclusive team that makes a difference. You will be part of :

  • building community resilience to natural hazards and climate change – elevated infrastructure to mitigate future flood events.
  • design communities – working on one of the largest land development projects in the South Island for the public and private sector
  • protect New Zealand’s water quality – design 3‑waters systems to enhance the natural environment and to ensure community needs are met.

Who you are :

This is a great opportunity for a motivated intermediate civil engineer to join a busy Christchurch office. You will have a Washington Accord engineering tertiary qualification and developed technical reporting skills with experience in 3 Waters modelling and design – infrastructure and / or land development.

As project lead on small to mid‑size projects you will work in a team and you will be able to communicate ideas with clients and colleagues.

Your daily adventures will also include :

  • researching new technologies and optimizing software
  • obtaining information and data
  • creating hydraulic models (we use EPANET, PCSWMM and HEC HMS)
  • learning and using technical knowledge to make decisions and solve problems
  • communicating within and outside the organization
  • developing designs and providing documentation
  • coordinating the work and activities of others
  • inspecting project sites to monitor progress
  • What’s in the offer

Investment in your professional development to keep up to date on new and exciting technologies and opportunities. You will work within an inclusive, supportive, and flexible work environment that will give you the opportunity for internal networking across disciplines and offices. A key point of difference will be your involvement in the whole project lifespan, including client contact, design, tendering, and construction observation building up your experience in complex multi-disciplinary projects.

You will be part of unique team spirit and culture which has our leadership model with leaders as coaches and our Principals and Directors working with you in our open plan office. There is heaps of fun with an active social club and plenty of off‑site activities including annual ski days.

If you're ready to take that next step with a team that supports your growth and shares your values, then we’d love to hear from you.
