Job description

Position Summary :

The Heat Pump Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing heat pumps and related HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties. This role involves ensuring systems are installed to manufacturer specifications, meet safety and compliance standards, and deliver efficient performance. This is a full-time position; at least 30 hours work per week is guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Install and commission heat pump and air conditioning systems, including split systems, ducted systems, and multi-unit installations.
  • Inspect job sites and determine appropriate installation methods and equipment.
  • Connect refrigerant lines, electrical components, and drainage systems safely and correctly.
  • Perform system testing to ensure proper operation and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems to diagnose faults and ensure optimal performance.
  • Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on installed systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding system operation and maintenance.
  • Keep accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • At least two years of relevant experience in HVAC or heat pump installation.
  • Valid driver license is required.
  • Must be a fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and environments.
  • Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritising work efficiently under pressure.
  • Practical understanding or willingness to learn various building-related services, including installations, repairs, and maintenance works.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail when dealing with technical or site-related issues.
  • Reliable, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
