As a Senior Field Engineer at Kordia, you’ll play a key part in the maintenance, installation, and commissioning of cutting-edge broadcast and telecommunications infrastructure for Kordia and our valued clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technical expert who thrives on solving complex challenges in a fast-paced field environment. You’ll take ownership of advanced projects from assembling and building systems to maintaining them, while ensuring every site meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability. Your expertise will play a key role in supporting Kordia’s mission to deliver resilient, dependable technology solutions across New Zealand.

Ko tō mahi – What you will do

Reporting to the Field Team Lead, you’ll lead by example as you carry out advanced maintenance, installations, and repairs on a variety of broadcast and telecommunications equipment. You’ll also play a key role developing efficient work systems and ensuring that every project meets Kordia’s high standards for quality, safety, and client service.

Maintaining and repairing equipment owned by Kordia and its clients

Leading advanced assembly, construction, installation, and commissioning of broadcast and telecommunications systems

Providing technical input for costing, quoting, and scoping of projects

Delivering site builds and fit-outs according to engineering drawings and technical plans

Commissioning equipment and validating performance against technical requirements

Diagnosing and resolving complex system issues during and after installation

Supporting other Field Engineers and Trainee / Junior Field Engineers

Building strong, professional relationships with clients and acting as the key customer liaison

Participating in the 24 / 7 on-call roster, responding swiftly to service-affecting issues.

Na tōu rourou - What you will bring

We’re after someone with hands-on field engineering experience in broadcast, telecommunications, digital microwave radio and fibre technology, who enjoys solving problems and getting stuck in.

To succeed, you’ll need :

A tertiary qualification in engineering, electronics, broadcast engineering or telecommunications – or equivalent practical technical experience.

At least 5 years in a field-based technical position.

A Limited Electrical Registration (REST) is preferred.

Demonstrated experience in installations and commissioning of technical systems.

Strong knowledge of system architecture, technical drawings, and compliance standards.

Solid health & safety awareness, preferably with EWP and working-at-heights certifications.

The ability to work independently, think on your feet and manage multiple projects.
