Nestled in the heart of Masterton our historic members club has been a home for culture, conversation, and community for nearly 150 years. With beautifully preserved interiors, a strong sense of tradition, and a vibrant membership, we are proud to offer an exceptional environment where service and heritage come together.
We are now seeking a food and functions manager (in house caterer) to lead the preparation and service of high-quality food for our members and guests, from weekly member dinners to special events and seasonal celebrations.
The Role
As our food and functions manager, you will :
Plan, prepare, and deliver freshly made meals for members, events, and functions.
Create menus that balance tradition with creativity, showcasing quality seasonal ingredients.
Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including ordering, budgeting, hygiene, and compliance.
Work closely with club management to plan catering for special occasions and member events.
Uphold the club’s standards of hospitality and presentation.
About You
You’ll be someone who takes pride in both your craft and your workplace. You will bring :
Proven catering experience
Strong organizational and time management skills.
A passion for traditional, high-quality food and excellent presentation
The ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the management
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (relevant certification preferred).
