Customer Service Officer – Invercargill City Council

Are you passionate about helping people and making a difference in your community? Invercargill City Council is looking for a friendly and motivated Customer Services Officer to join our future‑focused team based in the Te Hinaki Civic Building on Esk Street.

This full‑time position is 40 hours per week, 8 : 00am‑5 : 00pm, Monday to Friday. The role includes front‑of‑house customer service, cashier transactions, and support through our phone contact centre.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customers, providing prompt and accurate advice in person and over the phone.
• Support customers across a wide range of Council services, including dog registration, rates, environmental health, theatre bookings, wheelie bins and property file requests.
• Process payments and handle cash transactions.
• Assist customers with online services and application forms, while maintaining accurate Council records.
