A leading financial institution is looking for a Senior Security Consultant to join their Technology team in Auckland. In this six-month contract, you’ll drive secure technology solutions, ensuring cyber risk, compliance, and customer protection are embedded across key projects.

What You'll Do

You'll be the go-to expert for cyber security across projects and services. Key responsibilities include :

  • Advising stakeholders on technical security risks across projects and change initiatives.
  • Supporting secure delivery of tech solutions within risk tolerance and compliance standards.
  • Leading threat modelling, risk assessments, and control testing on new / existing services.
  • Representing Cyber & Governance in governance forums and decision-making processes.
  • Proactively identifying and escalating risks for remediation or leadership visibility.
  • Promoting a strong culture of safety, compliance, and wellbeing through policy alignment and reporting.

What You Bring

You’re experienced in cyber security and consulting in complex environments, ideally with exposure to financial services. You combine strong technical skills with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • 5+ years in information or cyber security roles.
  • Strong background in risk assessment, audit, governance, and cloud security (AWS / Azure).
  • Hands-on with security controls and operational security practices.
  • Skilled at translating complex risks into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Experience with financial services, regulatory compliance, and threat landscapes (desirable).
  • Industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, SABSA, ISO) and relevant tertiary qualifications.
