Whaka-Ora Healthy Harbour is a partnership between Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, Environment Canterbury, Lyttelton Port Company, and Christchurch City Council. Priorities and intended outcomes for the programme are set by these partners in collaboration with the community

Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As The Programme Manager , You Will Work Closely With The Co-chairs Of The Whaka-Ora Governance Group, And With All Of The Programme’s Partnership Groups – The Whaka-Ora Governance Group And Senior Managers, And Harbour Community – To Deliver The Whaka-Ora Healthy Harbour Programme. In Doing So, You Will

Ensure that the Whaka-Ora Healthy Harbour Plan is delivered with an understanding of tikanga and cultural narrative.

Ensure the effective delivery of programme projects.

Manage and foster relationships with community and relevant agencies to enable alignment with the Plan and its outcomes.

Foster funding opportunities and assist with obtaining external funding for projects.

The position will be managed by Environment Canterbury, but the primary location for the role will be at the office of Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke.

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience

Ideally You Will Have

Excellent relationship management skills.

At least five years programme management experience, including programme / project planning, management tools, implementation, budgeting monitoring and progress reporting.

Understanding of Māori cultural values and / or experience working within a kaupapa Māori environment.

Experience working in a community setting or voluntary or related sector.

Experience in strategic planning and coordination.

Experience with preparing or assessing funding applications.

Familiarity with the Whakaraupō / Lyttelton Harbour community and ecological health is desirable.

Knowledge of local government, financial literacy and well-developed collaborative influencing and negotiating skills.

A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
