Campfire Digital Recruitment – Christchurch, South Island

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time contract position (40 hours per week) running from now until February, paid on an hourly basis. You’ll be working onsite in Christchurch for three days per week, with two WFH days. In this role, you’ll oversee the organisation’s communication activity. You’ll manage corporate announcements, media activity, crisis response, internal updates, and thought leadership. You’ll also help plan and improve communication processes across key channels, making sure all messaging aligns with organisational goals and meets required standards. You’ll work with senior leaders, collaborate across the business, and manage a small team of three.

  • Develop clear, accurate written content for announcements, updates, and key initiatives
  • Prepare statements, talking points, and material for senior leaders
  • Manage media relations, PR activity, and external messaging
  • Coordinate messaging across teams to ensure accuracy and alignment
  • Lead a small comms team and support smooth day-to-day delivery

  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    This role suits someone with exceptional writing ability, strong communication judgement, and the confidence to work closely with senior leaders. It’s ideal for someone who can navigate complex information, shape clear messaging, and keep work moving in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong background in communications or PR
  • Excellent writing skills across multiple formats
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage priorities and deadlines
  • Experience supporting or leading small teams is beneficial
