Junior Firmware Engineer

About the roleAt Halter, we work at the interface where software meets firmware meets hardware, underpinned by deep data, to transform and improve what our customers (farmers) have been doing for centuries.We're looking for a junior firmware engineer to help our growth through multiple international markets this year.

As an engineer at Halter, you will demonstrate ownership of the collar firmware through a deep understanding of your firmware requirements, functionality, and design, and see it through all aspects of its life cycle from inception through to mass deployment and maintenance.You'll be working on the platform team, responsible for all aspects of delivering a highly reliable, fault-tolerant and monitorable collar, including ultra-low power design, communication, production support, in-field upgrade and monitoring.What your day could look likeHands-on development of firmware to improve product performance and deliver new features.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and deploy your work.Build and maintain the infrastructure and support systems necessary for the worldwide deployment of our devices.Assess incoming support queries, troubleshoot firmware issues, and implement solutions to prevent future problems.Contribute to the continuous improvement of all aspects of our product development lifecycle and processes.Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality.Who we're looking forA passionate firmware engineer who wants to be hands-on.Loves solving hard technical problems and delivering awesome features to customers.Is a strong team player who contributes to the team's performance and excels in giving and receiving feedback.Is comfortable working with low-level hardware and resource-constrained systems.Why our team loves working at HalterDedicate yourself to solving real-world problems alongside an epic team in a culture designed around growth.A genuine and shared connection to our mission to make a difference in the world.The pride of joining an iconic New Zealand technology company.
