As Transportation Manager, you'll be at the wheel of South Waikato's transport network – ensuring roads, bridges and pathways are safe, reliable and resilient for everyone.
You will be managing a skilled team of four and working collaboratively with Waka Kotahi, KiwiRail and regional councils to deliver strategic and operational transport programmes.
Our Transportation Manager will :
Lead, support and develop a high-performing team to deliver safe and accessible transport services.
Manage transport renewals, maintenance and capital works, delivering on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Oversee asset management and use accurate data to inform planning and investment decisions.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with agencies, contractors and the community.
Apply sound procurement and contract management practices that achieve best-value outcomes.
Implement the Road Safety Action Plan and integrate active and public transport into planning and projects.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and Waka Kotahi (NZTA) guidelines.
We are looking for someone with :
Tertiary qualification in civil or transport engineering or equivalent experience in transport infrastructure management.
Minimum 5 years' experience managing roading or civil infrastructure projects, including NZS
Proven leadership skills and ability to develop a motivated, high-performing team.
Strong knowledge of local government processes, transport standards and asset management.
