The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with a focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail.
This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal parts and structures according to specifications, including pipe welding to ASME IX standards.
As a Fabricator Welder, you will need to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining technical proficiency and adhering to the highest safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.Carry out welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, pipe, and structural) to relevant standards.Mark up, lay out, position, and assemble parts and components.Operate equipment such as grinders, brake press, and other workshop machinery.Plan and carry out tasks independently while keeping supervisors informed.Arrange materials and complete documentation / job cards accurately.Follow Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including inspections, tests, and record keeping.Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to customer expectations.Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organised workspace.What We're Looking ForTrade qualified fitter / welder with relevant welding tickets.Must be qualified to ASME IX Welding Standard and able to successfully obtain / hold the required welding tickets, with proficiency in both Electrode and TIG processesAluminium Tig and Mig experience preferable.Current NZ driver's licence (Class 1)Willingness to work overtime as required.Proven workshop experience, ideally in heavy industry.High level of workmanship and technical knowledge.Physically fit, with strong problem-solving and time management skills.Able to work unsupervised or as part of a team.Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.Work HoursThis role offers a 4-day work week (minimum 32 hours).
Hours may increase when workload and projects pick up.To be eligible for this position you must have the legal right to work in NZ.The successful candidate must pass drug, alcohol, and medical checks.
