Job description

We have an opening for a Chapter Lead to join our leadership team in the Architecture Practice.

If you're looking for an Enterprise Architecture Leadership role that will allow you to lead and shape ASB's strategy and roadmap, give you exposure across our senior business and technology teams, and contribute towards our Technology, Digital and Data (TDD) Strategy... then keep reading!

At ASB, we're all about doing what we can to help our customers get "One Step Ahead" by giving them the tools they need to manage their lives and plans for their families and future.

Our products don't just serve ads or stream movies - they underpin our economy and touch people's lives.

The Architecture Practice works across ASB teams to help us reach our goals through assessment of current architectures, defining target state architectures and creating roadmaps that show business transformation between current and future states.

As a Chapter Lead, you'll be working in the Architecture Practice and leading Architects embedded in our Tribes and Platform teams.

You'll be responsible for pastoral care and uplift of our Architecture Practice and craft across all areas of ASB.

You'll work on a variety of solutions, learn from your colleagues, and shape enterprise architecture strategies.

You'll lead across a group of talented Enterprise and Solution Architects with different areas of domain expertise (e.g. Business, Data, Integration), so keeping an eye on the big and small pictures and working to your strengths to learn and lead others will be key.

As a Chapter Lead you will work across all major programmes and govern our enterprise-wide and domain specific roadmaps as part of Architecture Guidance.

You'll be a key member of our Architecture Review Board.

As a leader of the Architecture Practice, you'll be mentoring and coaching a close-knit team of experts and contribute towards building the capability of Architecture Practice including continuous improvement into our policies, standards, controls and guard-rails to leverage new and emerging technology services.

This may sound like a tall order, but you'll have a lot of support from our CTO, Architects, Tribes and Platform teams, who are aligned around our key strategic transformation programmes and business strategy.

It's an exciting time at ASB and this role provides a unique opportunity to shape the future of banking in New Zealand.

You would have started your career in an enterprise engineering or IT services environment and have grown up the ranks to have deep experience in architecture, understanding its complexities from a business, infrastructure and software perspective, dependencies of different ecosystems and how this ties together in an enterprise environment.

You will have ideally led architecture teams and large-scale enterprise-wide transformation programmes as a senior architect.

Your effective communication and people skills will help you lead and build relationships, understand and communicate complex information, and get different people on board with the same plan.

You'll be excited about the new, live on the cusp of new technology and how this can make what we do, better.
