We're looking for a motivated Procurement & Contracts Coordinator to join our Strategy & Programme Delivery team.

In this pivotal role, you'll help ensure Napier City Council's procurement and contracts processes are efficient, compliant, and customer-focused — supporting projects that make a real difference for our community.

Working closely with the wider Procurements and Contracts team and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you'll bring structure, clarity, and momentum to every stage of the procurement process.

Te Aheinga - The Opportunity

Coordinate the day-to-day administration of procurement and contract activities, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery.

Support communication and collaboration across teams and with suppliers, consultants, and contractors.

Help monitor adherence to Council policies and procurement standards to maintain quality and consistency.

Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, contributing to a culture of efficiency and continuous learning.

He korero mohou - About You

Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.

2–3 years' experience in administration, ideally within procurement or contract management environments.

Strong computer literacy, technical aptitude, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Confident communicator who builds positive working relationships across all levels.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated to learn, grow, and contribute to team success.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday.

You will be based in Napier CBD.

The annual salary package for this role is between $63,700-$75,000 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
