About the Role

Farmers with Halter are writing the playbook for a world-first farming system, they are paving a new way of managing their land and animals, and in doing so, are unlocking more productive and sustainable uses of the world's agricultural land along with driving optimal profitability outcomes. We recently launched into the Beef Market. This is an opportunity to build a new market from the bottom up and make a huge impact in an industry that has not had a disruptive product in years.

As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will drive business growth and customer success within your designated territory. You will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets, acting as Halter's on-the-ground representative. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on both expansion and long-term customer satisfaction. You will prioritise daily efforts that optimise growth performance and drive value for your customers. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Support, and other regional sales teams, sharing field insights to ensure Halter’s technology meets farmers’ needs. Your contributions will support Halter’s mission to help 50% of the world's habitable landmass be more productive and sustainable. This role is ideally located anywhere in the Manawatū, Rangitikei, or Whanganui regions, and frequent travel is required.

  • Attitude : You lead by example, motivate others, thrive under pressure, and bring authentic energy and passion to every interaction
  • Sales & Customer Success Expertise : A high-performing value-based salesperson with a history of creating opportunities, closing deals, and building lasting customer relationships; experience in post-sales value building and upselling
  • Beef Industry Experience : Knowledge of beef operations and the challenges of the industry, or a strong willingness to learn rapidly by engaging with farm operations
  • Territory Management : Ability to manage a large territory with a balance of sales and customer success
  • Problem Solving & Collaboration : Resourceful and quick-thinking; works well with cross-functional teams to drive solutions
  • Willingness to Travel : Frequent travel within the territory to engage with customers and prospects

What Your Day Could Look Like

  • Prospecting & Expansion : Source new leads and opportunities through proactive outreach, referrals, industry events, and other channels; manage the full sales pipeline from lead generation to close
  • Hitting Sales Targets : Manage pipeline and meet high-growth sales targets by screening, qualifying, demonstrating the product, and negotiating contracts
  • Customer Account Management : Maintain relationships post-sale to ensure ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and help with onboarding and deployment
  • Territory Ownership : Take ownership of your territory and foster relationships across the beef industry
  • Customer Onboarding : Support end-to-end onboarding and deployment of Halter’s product for a smooth transition from sales to implementation
  • Field Learnings & Feedback : Gather customer feedback and share insights with Support, Product, and R&D to drive product improvements
  • Collaborating with Support Teams : Work with Support to resolve issues quickly and ensure customers feel supported
