About the role

We are looking for a Trainee Field Representative team member who is a self-starter looking for a new adventure, has a positive attitude, enjoys working hard and is honest, reliable, willing to learn, well organised and has good attention to detail, to become part of the Field Team at our Ashburton plant.

Reporting to the Agronomy Team Lead, this role is to aid the day-to-day activities of the Field and Agronomy team, including but not limited to, crop seed allocations and planting, raw crop sampling during pea, corn, carrot and potato seasons, crop harvest, and storage operations.

This is a growth role with opportunities to participate in industry developments and training and the opportunity to progress further within the team for the right candidate.

Remuneration will be based on your experience and qualifications.

As a Trainee Field Representative, you will be responsible for :

Crop Management – preparing seed orders, crop sampling, daily inspections of storage facilities and so on.

Be visible to growers – walk paddocks / crops to undertake crop evaluations / pre-harvest samples, providing feedback to the business, as directed by the Field and Agronomy Team.

Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.

Daily inspections of potato sheds including assessing stored potato quality by regular sampling and thorough inspection.

Accurately maintain all documentation and records regarding seed deliveries on site as well as deliveries / returns to / from growers.

For this role, you'll need :

Formal Agriculture Training / Background (Preferred but not essential).

Class 2 Licence + heavy wheels endorsement (Preferred but not essential).

Forklift Licence and certification (Preferred but not essential).

MS Word, Excel, and Access (preferred).

A good understanding of H&S in the workplace.
