Our Infrastructure Delivery team is proud to be contributing to the Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) highway project. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join us in a full‑time, permanent position, initially stepping into the role of Pavement Manager on this major project.

About Ō2NL

The Ōtaki to north of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will dramatically improve safety, resilience, and efficiency, as well as increasing transport choices for the area's growing population. The Ō2NL project is led in partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga and council partner Horowhenua District Council.

This transformative project is being delivered using a two‑alliance approach, with each alliance delivering a section of the road and associated works. Together alliance partners are working to create a positive legacy for the region, led by our project principles to tread lightly with the whenua and create an enduring legacy. We are seeking excellent people for this unique opportunity to work and collaborate with leading industry.

The Opportunity

As the Pavement Manager, you'll oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of all pavement construction activities across the Ō2NL South Alliance. This includes construction of stabilised subbase, deep lift asphalt layers, and EMOGPA surfacing, alongside oversight of network drainage works. This is a great opportunity to combine technical expertise with project leadership, helping drive programme alignment, ensure high‑quality outcomes, and foster a strong culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure delivery, with at least 5 years’ in pavement construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Proven experience managing projects involving stabilised subbase and deep lift asphalt.
  • Familiarity with EMOGPA surfacing and its performance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of pavement construction methodologies and standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt within a dynamic alliance environment.
