- Kaitakawaenga Maori is a 34 plus year service with a rich history and are the Maori face of Inland Revenue.
Delivering services in a whanau, hapu and iwi centric way to ensure our Maori customers have the tools to self-manage their tax affairs whether they are an individual, or in business.
In this varied role you will :work directly with Maori and non-Maori customers, helping them understand their tax obligations, entitlements and how they can self-manageprovide customer service across a variety of products both proactively and reactively to improve customer outcomesengage and build relationships with the community, tax professionals and small businesses to ensure complianceeducate Maori communities, including the delivery of seminars and presentations, to a self-management model using technologywork in a networked way across IR and use insights gained to develop solutions for customersbring the voice of the customer to Inland Revenue.Mou - About youTo be successful in this role you will bring the following :Minimum of NCEA Level 3 Te Reo Maori or equivalentUnderstanding of and can utilise tikanga Maori where appropriateA high level of comfort with whanau, hapu and iwiKnow and understand issues relevant to the Maori communityEnjoy engaging clearly and accurately with people as part of your day-to-day workThe ability to understand and build trust in potentially difficult, sensitive and / or complex situationsThe capability to understand and apply legislation and policyA current full New Zealand driver's license (essential)Flexibility - available for varied working hours and travel away from home (essential)Inland Revenue plays a critical role in improving the economic and social wellbeing of New Zealanders.We do this by collecting and distributing money, we collect 80% of the Crown's revenue and distribute social support payments.Community Compliance provides a front-line service for our customers, improving voluntary compliance through the relationships they foster in our communities and the services we provide.
The team's work includes Tax Agents, Front of House and Kaitakawaenga Maori.
