About the Role

We're looking for an experienced

Water Service Foreperson

to join our Civil division in the Waikato (Te Rapa based).

In this role, you'll lead the safe and efficient delivery of water reticulation and drainage projects - from new greenfield developments to complex urban works.

You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

While this is not a people-management role, you'll provide hands-on technical leadership, guiding crews on installation practices, safety measures, and environmental controls.

Key Responsibilities

Install and maintain pipelines, manholes, valves, hydrants, and fittings to specification.

Read and interpret plans, set line / level / grade, and use lasers to lay pipes accurately.

Operate and oversee safe use of plant and equipment (excavators, compactors, saws, generators).

Conduct and record pressure testing, trench base bearing, and compaction tests.

Implement and maintain site environmental and safety measures.

Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and project managers to meet programme, QA, and client requirements.

What You'll Bring

5+ years' experience in 3-waters infrastructure (water reticulation, drainlaying, maintenance).

Proven ability to work across a wide range of pipe diameters, materials, and ground conditions.

Full Class 2 driver's licence with WTR endorsement.

NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction & Maintenance).

Strong planning, problem-solving, and "can-do" attitude.

Ability to follow and promote health, safety, and environmental best practices.
