Te Tari Pureke – Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand's Firearms Regulator.
Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.
To achieve this, Te Tari Pureke delivers four core functions : effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.

About the role
The PMO Advisor supports the Senior PMO Lead and the Arms Transformation Programme to ensure successful outcomes from workstreams.
This role plays a large part in the coordination and cohesion across the programme as they work with colleagues to create across-programme reporting, monitoring and documentation and high-quality secretariat services to governance groups.
Critical to this role is effective relationship management.
The ability to disseminate information to a wide audience and to work closely with other teams to achieve desirable outcomes.
Provide support in delivering reporting on the Arms Transformation Programme workstreams, including distribution to key stakeholders.
Advise programme / project managers on industry best practice standards, guidelines and lessons learned from previous project experiences.
Monitor project tracking and milestones to ensure if they are on track and escape concerns to the Senior PMO Lead where required.
Lead onboarding induction into how the PMO works and how we work together.
Advise on Sentient requirements for Programmes / Projects and financial tracking.
Special requirements
At least 2 years' experience at a senior level in a high-profile public sector environment.
An ability to solve problems and lead sound decision-making.
Excellent planning and coordination skills with a focus on being organised, planful, and diligent in terms of meeting deadlines.
Excellent at programme and project scheduling and programmatic.
Ability to influence in managing data quality requirements.

We as the firearms regulator, collaborate closely with both the Ministry of Justice and NZ Police.
The Ministry of Justice is responsible for policy advice and system oversight and NZ Police is responsible for law enforcement function.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at $95, 057 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
