A bit about the role :

In this position, you will take ownership of developing and maintaining a robust procurement framework that supports consistency, transparency, and effective sourcing across the business. You will lead the creation and implementation of procurement strategies within your assigned spend category, ensuring clear planning, thorough analysis, and strong alignment with organisational goals. The role involves managing end-to-end tender process, enabling cost savings, improving supplier relationships, and driving best-practice procurement behaviours across Yili Oceania. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver solutions that are fit for purpose, strategically informed, and sustainable. This is a dynamic and collaborative role where your expertise will directly contribute to better planning, improved commercial outcomes, and continued organisational growth.

You will be a proactive and strategic procurement professional, confident in navigating complex category requirements and engaging effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement, and a solutions-focused mindset. You thrive in environments where consistency, continuous improvement, and best practice matter, and you enjoy being a trusted advisor who provides clarity and structure in procurement decision-making.

Oceania Dairy (ODL) is a dairy manufacturing plant located in Glenavy, South Canterbury, with a diverse workforce of 400 staff, who specialise in the creation of Milk Powder (adult and infant formula) and UHT milk. Owned by the Global Top 5 dairy company Yili Group, Westland Milk Products and its related companies in New Zealand, Oceania Dairy (Glenavy), Pure Nutrition Ltd (Rolleston), Canary Foods (Hamilton) and EasiYo Ltd (Auckland) form a group that we refer to as the Yili Oceania Business Division (YOBD).
