Corporate & Financial Services Lawyer

The Role :

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer (4+ years PQE) to join our high-performing Corporate team, based in our Christchurch office. This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their expertise in M&A, financial services, capital raising, and commercial contracts.

You’ll work closely with our partners and senior authors across our Christchurch and Auckland offices, advising a diverse client base that includes financial services providers, international corporates, primary industry leaders, and SMEs.

Working closely with our corporate partners, you will :

• Advise on M&A transactions, capital raising, and financial services regulatory compliance.
• Research, analyse, draft and negotiate commercial contracts, franchise agreements, and governance documentation.
• Develop longstanding client relationships, providing effective communication & support.
• Manage end-to-end workflow to effectively & efficiently deliver on client requests.
• Further develop and grow in your own career & practice.
• Behave in a way that supports our cultural values & help drive our strategic goals.

About You :

You’ll bring at least 4 years’ PQE in corporate and commercial law, ideally with exposure to financial markets, M&A, and financial services regulation. Experience in franchising or capital raising is a plus.

You’ll be confident working directly with clients, delivering pragmatic advice, and contributing to complex transactions. You’ll also enjoy working in a team that values collaboration, initiative, and continuous learning.
