Permanent Full Time role (1 FTE, 34 hours per week).
The School of Health & Counselling is seeking a skilled Mathematics Lecturer to support our NZ Certificate in Study and Employment Pathways programme, a bridging pathway into Nursing and Health programmes.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in bridging or foundation programmes and a strong understanding of numeracy concepts contextualised to health sciences.
Knowledge of health-related science and literacy would be an advantage, as the role involves working closely with subject specialists to prepare students for success in higher-level health qualifications.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated person who has the drive and passion for teaching excellence.
A Tertiary Teaching Qualification at Level 5 or NCALE (vocational) will be beneficial in this exciting opportunity.

What this Will Involve
Work with the teaching team to support delivery of the Numeracy component of the programme.
Plan and deliver courses using effective teaching methods and materials appropriate to the students.
Embed Literacy and Numeracy learning activities in all subjects as required.
Ensure all assessments, marking, feedback, moderation, and reassessment are completed as per programme document and MIT policies and guidelines.
Facilitate interactive teaching sessions both in class, online and in labs.
Provide necessary academic and pastoral support to learners.
Ideal Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and / or health-related science and / or Education.
Graduate diploma in education is preferred.
Relevant discipline-based practice.
An adult teaching qualification at level 5 or above.
Experience in teaching and / or mentoring adults.
Experience in working with diverse groups of people.
Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
Experience in teaching and assessment of students.
