The successful applicant will be an integral part of the Allied Health leadership team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley and will based at Wellington Regional Hospital.
The team is responsible for inpatient, outpatient and community services for people with communication and swallowing disorders.This leader will have the opportunity to collaborate with other allied health, medical and nursing colleagues in Medicine, ICU, Neurology and Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), as well other areas of the health system, to provide high quality, effective, patient-centred care.
This role is specifically a leadership role, and may appeal to a current Speech-language Therapist who would retain a portion of their clinical caseload.
The leadership component is 0.4FTE, or 16 hours per week, with the balance across the week being clinical work.
The team includes one Advanced and one Expert Speech-language Therapist, providing clinical leadership and advanced practice across Head and Neck Oncology and Complex Dysphagia management.
There will also be opportunities to grow connections across our CCHV district, and the wider region.This role is one of 11 inpatient Allied Health Team Leader roles within the Community, Allied Health and Older Adults service across Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley, so there is a wealth of collegial support available to you.
You will also work closely with the CCHV Speech-language Therapy Professional Leader, and other SLT leaders across the region.

You will also be passionate about Speech-language Therapy and challenging the status quo to improve equity of outcomes for our clients.You will be a qualified Speech-language Therapist and a current registered member of New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association.
You will have demonstrated leadership skills and a passion to develop these further in a supportive environment.
