Overview

We're currently seeking experienced and safety-conscious Sprayer Operators to join a professional chip sealing crew based in Rolleston . If you have a background in civil construction or roading, particularly in chip sealing operations, this is a great opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering essential infrastructure work across Canterbury.

Start Date : ASAP

Location : Rolleston & wider Canterbury region

Hours : Full-Time, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend / overtime during peak season)

Key Responsibilities

Operate bitumen sprayers safely and efficiently as part of chip sealing operations
Accurately apply bitumen according to site requirements and specifications
Ensure even and consistent coverage, minimising waste and rework
Conduct pre-start checks and maintain equipment in good working order
Assist the crew with site preparation, loading materials, and clean-up as required
Follow all site safety procedures and environmental guidelines
Communicate clearly with Foreman, truck drivers, and crew to ensure smooth operations
Complete required paperwork, logs, and spray records accurately

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience operating bitumen sprayers in chip sealing or road construction

Sound understanding of chip sealing processes and materials

Full Class 2 (or higher) Driver's Licence

WTR endorsements highly desirable

Strong awareness of health and safety practices on civil worksites

Ability to work well in a team and follow site instructions

Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality work
