About Norwood – Our Expansion into Nelson
For more than 75 years, Norwood has proudly supported New Zealand's agricultural and construction industries with premium machinery, trusted servicing, and nationwide expertise. As part of our continued growth, we're opening a new dealership in Nelson, strengthening our support for customers across the Top of the South and bringing high-quality machinery sales and service to the region.
We are now looking for a motivated Sales Representative to join the new team and grow our market presence across Nelson, Tasman and the surrounding rural communities.
About the Role
As a Sales Representative, you will represent Norwood and our world-class machinery brands including Kubota, Landini, Kuhn, and Väderstad. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and matching farmers, growers, and contractors with the right machinery to support their business.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy while being strongly supported by our Blenheim dealership and the wider Norwood network.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the sales process, from prospecting new customers to retaining and reselling to existing clients.
- Promote and sell Norwood's range of agricultural and construction machinery across the wider Nelson / Tasman region.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with farmers, contractors, growers, and rural business owners.
- Provide expert product knowledge and advice to ensure customers receive solutions tailored to their needs.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure CRM records are accurate and up to date.
- Stay current with product updates, new technologies, industry trends, and competitor activity.
- Represent Norwood at field days, community events, and supplier engagements as required.
To be successful, you will bring :
- Proven sales experience in agricultural, construction, machinery, automotive, or related sectors
- Strong negotiation skills and confidence closing deals
- A genuine interest in rural communities and the ability to build long-term customer relationships
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work closely with Service, Parts, and Dealership teams
- Good computer skills, including CRM use and the ability to learn new systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a customer-first mindset
- A passion for agricultural or construction machinery
