The Role :
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Queenstown team. If you have a proven track record of managing and delivering projects from conception through to completion, this could be your next career move!
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in our Queenstown branch, taking on leadership responsibilities while contributing to a variety of challenging and rewarding projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) with 8+ years of experience, who is comfortable working autonomously, client-facing, and able to guide and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Management & Leadership : Lead and manage engineering projects through all phases (consenting, design, and construction).
- Technical Expertise : Provide engineering analysis, make critical decisions, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Mentorship & Development : Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth.
- Design & Certification : Approve engineering designs, including roading, wastewater, stormwater, and water supply network designs, and certify designs (PS1) and construction (PS4).
- Contract Administration : Review tenders, contract documentation, schedules of quantities, and engineering estimates. Administer construction contracts (NZS3910 and others).
- Resource Consent Administration : Assist in resource consent applications, including technical reviews and attendance at hearings.
- Site Inspections & Monitoring : Undertake site inspections, monitor contractor progress, and ensure safety standards are adhered to.
About You :
Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related).Experience : 8+ years in Civil Engineering, with a focus on project management, design, and construction.Chartered Status : CPEng (or working towards) preferred.Skills : Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and technical skills.Software Proficiency : Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydraulic analysis, with Hec-Ras / Hec-HMS, Epanet or similar.Client-Facing & Self-Driven : Comfortable managing client expectations and working independently with minimal supervision.Why Join Us?
