Head of innovation, Proteins

About the Job

Korn Ferry has been engaged to appoint a Head of Innovation, Protein for a leading New Zealand based dairy company. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organization in growth mode, and to contribute to its innovation agenda.

Technical background

Strong foundation in R&D / innovation in protein-based dairy products, including milk powders, milk protein concentrates / isolates, whey protein concentrates / isolates, caseins / caseinates, casein / whey hydrolysates, and related products; experience in dairy innovation and functional ingredient development.

Industry experience

Dairy, food, or nutrition-related sectors; understanding of process and product development in B2B or B2C context.

Insight & foresight

Ability to track and translate industry and scientific trends into actionable R&D direction

Collaboration

Cross-functional partnership with marketing, operations, regulatory, and external research networks

Team leadership

Lead a team of ~5 technical staff; coach and build capability in applied science and product development
