Job Overview

The NZ Data Services Sales Specialist is responsible for leading pursuit and collaborates with and supports Account Managers, providing specialist expertise within the sales team.

The role is onboarded as onsite, primarily working from an HPE office.

The specialist drives proactive campaigns, builds the pipeline, and uses specialized knowledge and skills to prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities in data services and storage sales.

Key Responsibilities

Lead sales of storage products and solutions within assigned territory, industry or accounts.

Prospect new storage opportunities and identify prospects within existing accounts.

Manage, coordinate, and drive sales activities; build sales pipeline and drive opportunities to successful closure.

Formulate and expand solutions to increase revenue through upsells and cross-sell.

Build sales readiness and reduce client learning curve through effective knowledge transfer.

Coordinate supporting sales activities related to pipeline hygiene with account managers, presales, channel partners, and other stakeholders.

Use internal sales tools for maintaining a healthy pipeline and account plans in a timely fashion.

Collaborate across HPE teams to deliver a consistent approach to developing business, including end-to-end solutions.

Negotiate profitable deals to expand opportunities and revenue.

Establish consultative relationships with clients, understanding unique business needs and involving IT management levels.

Interface with internal and external experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solution development.

Coordinate marketing campaigns for storage, ensuring successful launches and momentum.

Support deal closure with relevant internal stakeholders, including account managers and channel partners.

Possess financial acumen and achieve overall financial metrics : revenue, gross margin, retention, and cost control.

Participate in general sales strategy and define specific sales plans with the manager.

Independently sell storage products / solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

6+ years of sales experience, preferably within storage related sales.

Demonstrated achievement of progressively higher quota and interface with diverse business customers.

Expertise to assess solution feasibility from a technical and business perspective.

Proven ability to negotiate profitable deals and pursue new business opportunities.

Ability to independently articulate technical solutions and commercial benefits to clients.

In-depth knowledge of storage, services, cloud, and solutions, including differentiation from competitors.

Understanding of industry trends and ability to leverage HPE's opportunities while mitigating challenges.

Knowledge of digital and modern methods to connect and sell.
