We're seeking a dedicated Operational Risk Analyst to join our Supervision team at Trustees Corporate Supervision. As a critical member of our team, you'll work closely with Client Managers providing effective risk management, supervision and monitoring activities to your appointments to ensure TEL has an intelligence-led, risk-based approach to managing its clients and understanding the potential harms they present to investors and other stakeholders.

This is a full-time hybrid role located in Auckland for an Operational Risk Analyst. The Operational Risk Analyst will be responsible for assessing and managing risks within the organisation. Daily tasks will include conducting risk assessments, implementing and monitoring risk control measures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing risk-related insights to support strategic decision-making. Effective communication with various stakeholders will also be a key part of the role.

We are eagerly anticipating the unique talents and personality you'll bring to our team. Here are the skills and qualities we're looking for :

  • Tertiary qualification, preferably in finance, commerce or accounting
  • At least three to five years’ experience in financial services, preferably with exposure to financial markets, or managed funds.
  • Preferable understanding of the regulatory environment under the Financial Markets Conduct Act, financial sector, markets and products. Good understanding of the regulatory environment under the Financial Markets Conduct Act, financial sector, markets, and products.
  • Experience in operational processes, governance, risk, compliance, and assurance frameworks used to deliver retail and / or wholesale financial products.
  • Knowledge of Managed Investment Schemes, Non-bank Deposit Takers and Debt Securities (Listed Issuers, Securitisation) would be preferable and an advantage.
  • Client service focused and strong people skills.
  • Perception; a healthy degree of professional skepticism, inquiry, curiosity, and alertness to risk.
  • Ability to communicate and influence all levels of an organisation up to senior management and board level.
  • Self-starter with sound judgement and application of policies.
  • Flexibility; willingness to look at new and different ways to improve processes, efficiencies and productivity.
