- This position is based at the rural location of Tokanui, Southland.
- The Rural Clinical Nurse Specialist is required to provide :
- PRIME
- unplanned urgent care
- district nursing.Rostered shift work that entails an eight hour day, and 24 / 7 on-call PRIME response Monday - Friday.

We are looking for suitably qualified applicants who wishing to work a base 64 hours a fortnight.
This role will :provide expert nursing knowledge in the management of patients / consumer care within a defined area of speciality practice, working with the patient, family / whanau or other health professionals to provide timely nursing care to optimise outcomeswork across the organisation within a clinical specialty acting in the roles of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader / change agent and care coordinator / case manageract as a mentor, guides and supports others in the speciality in their assessment, clinical decision making, implementation, evaluation and documentation of careeffectively communicate with patients / consumer and family / whanau and members of the healthcare team.About the Team / Service / LocationHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities.We take pride in all the services we provide, and our aim is to improve, promote and protect the health of our region.

About youIn addition to your nursing qualifications, you will also have post graduate qualifications, at a minimum a diploma, but preferably a master's degree.We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse who can work independently and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to assess, treat and manage patient / consumer health care needs.Our ideal candidate will :have at least three years' experience as a Registered Nursebe registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse and hold a valid APChave a full New Zealand driver's licence with a clean driving recordhave excellent written and verbal communication skillshave intermediate / advanced computer skills.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.We embrace a workforce that is diverse and inclusive so that we are better positioned to understand and service our community.
