About the role

We're looking for a motivated Architectural Technician to join our Timaru office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills while working alongside experienced professionals on a wide variety of projects — from residential renovations and custom homes through to multi-unit and commercial builds.

You'll be part of a supportive, team-oriented environment where learning and collaboration go hand in hand.

We'll help you develop your technical expertise, expand your project experience, and play a meaningful role in bringing great design to life.

What you'll do

Prepare design and technical drawings using the latest ArchiCAD software.

Support the team with consent documentation and coordinate building consents with councils.

Contribute to early-stage project work, including site visits and engaging with clients and consultants.

Work closely with senior designers and project leads to develop practical, buildable solutions.

What you'll bring

A qualification in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or similar.

3+ years' experience with knowledge of design principles, building codes, and technical detailing.

Proficiency in ArchiCAD (v28) or Revit — we'll support you to grow further.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and present ideas clearly.

A proactive, adaptable working style and interest in contributing across diverse project types.

Attention to detail, an interest in design innovation, and a practical mindset for how projects come to life.
