We have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner to join our Albany‑based Support Centre and make a real difference. As a key member of our People team, you’ll work closely with the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to champion a strong culture of care and continuous improvement, influencing strategy, coaching leaders and embedding best practice that protects and empowers our people.

What you’ll do

  • Be a trusted advisor to business owners and leaders across our store network, helping them navigate a wide range of health, safety and wellbeing matters.
  • Shape and enhance our HSW management system, ensuring it reflects legislative changes, industry trends, and best practice aligned to AS / NZS 45001.
  • Embed HSW into business plans and processes, driving risk reduction, legal compliance, and worker participation.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive safety culture and supporting the delivery of our HSW strategy.
  • Facilitate training and development, equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and confidence to keep people safe.
  • Support critical risk management, developing cooperative‑wide processes that protect what matters most.

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in health and safety within a complex or similar industry environment.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ Health & Safety legislation, best practice, and emerging international trends.
  • Familiarity with AS / NZS 45001 and AS / NZS 45003 standards and experience maintaining these in a dynamic organisation.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for driving continuous improvement and creating safer, healthier workplaces.
