Matamata Christian School is thrilled to become a composite school with Y1–9 in 2026 and Y1–10 in 2027.

We are starting by adding a science teacher into our team in 2026. The successful applicant will teach science in Y7–8 and in Y9 (0.4) as we pioneer this journey next year. Desirably they would also be willing to teach some mathematics at Y9 (0.1). There is scope for more hours if able to take other subjects.

A successful applicant will have a science lab to work in and a unit is available in 2026 to help strengthen science across the rest of the school. Because this is our first year moving into Y9–10 more time and opportunities may arise for the right person.

Remuneration :

The terms and conditions, including base salary, are set by the Post Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers is pro-rated and based on a salary range from $61,329 to $103,086, depending on qualifications and experience. The actual base salary will be established through a salary assessment once the appointment is confirmed.
