New Zealand Land Search and Rescue is a national volunteer organisation which provides search and rescue services for those who are lost, missing and injured. Our volunteers operate in suburban, urban, wilderness and rural areas including forests, mountains, shorelines and caves. Working with local Search and Rescue groups will often require attendance at evening and weekend events throughout the region. Duties include supporting Groups with organisational processes, logistical coordination for events, sharing of best practice, relationship management and promotion of regional cooperation.
Land Search and Rescue volunteers are dedicated and giving people and there is a high level of expectation that their support staff will share and demonstrate these same values. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and have excellent communication skills, organisational ability, judgement and temperament. They will be approachable and honest, and share a commitment to the aims of Land Search and Rescue.
