General Medicine Registrar 2026-2027 - Wairarapa Hospital

About the role

Permanent Medicine Registrar position starting 2 February 2026, allocated to a General Medicine training post at Wairarapa Hospital in Masterton.

This is a 6‑month RACP‑accredited training position. The role is open to doctors willing to undertake the full year (two 6‑month postings). The registrar will work with a small team of consultants and pre‑vocational doctors, and will lead and learn while having direct contact with the SMO physician team and other specialty teams.

Responsibilities

• Cover Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics and O&G when rostered for long days and weekends.
• Provide comprehensive general medical care across a wide scope of hands‑on learning.
• Lead and support junior clinicians within the team.
