Warehouse And Logistics Manager

Making Moves Co, a growing local freight and logistics / small movers business in Queenstown, Otago.

We're looking for a hands-on Logistics Manager with strong logistics coordination and team management skills to help take our operations to the next level. You'd be working alongside our sister company, Wilde & Stone which is a Queenstown-based Home Staging and Interior Design company.

Operating for over four years, both companies are focused on steady, sustainable growth - powered by a friendly, flexible, and motivated local team.

About the Role

You'll oversee day-to-day logistics for Wilde & Stone trading as Making Moves Co, manage a small team, and work closely with the Director of Wilde & Stone to ensure smooth, efficient operations across both businesses.

The position is mainly practical, hands on with some administrative work that can be completed remotely as needed, and will involve mainly local and some regional travel within the New Zealand South Island, driving the Making Moves vehicles. You will be required to drive the moving truck / goods from to time within regional travel in the South Island such as Canterbury & Southland, however your primary location of work will be Queenstown.

Physical fitness is essential, strength involved for moving heavier furniture items.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage staff rosters and accurately record hours worked, maintaining staff coverage
• Maintain clear tracking of billable vs. non-billable hours
• Handle client calls and booking enquiries professionally
• Schedule and allocate jobs, ensuring timely delivery, drive our moving trucks
• Keep vehicle logbooks current and ensure all servicing, COF, RUC, and registrations are up to date
• Oversee warehouse and storage operations, maintaining tidy, organised spaces
• Ensure all staging furniture and items are handled, stored, and transported with care
• Conduct or coordinate basic furniture maintenance and repairs
• Perform moving labour daily
• Prepare monthly operational and vehicle reports
• Continuously seek improvements in systems, service, and efficiency
• Ensure the company operates under the Health and Safety at Work Act
