OverviewSt Michael's School is a small, vibrant Catholic primary school serving Y1–8 in the heart of Taita.

We are a predominantly Pasifika community seeking a dedicated and experienced junior school teacher to join our team in a NE / Y1 classroom.

This is a Scale A tagged position, and the successful applicant must be a faith-filled educator willing and able to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of our Catholic school.We are looking for a teacher who : Has proven experience in teaching within a junior school setting.Has experience working successfully within a Pasifika community, building strong relationships with students, whanau, and parish.Has a genuine commitment to our Catholic faith, values, and mission.Has expertise in structured literacy and mathematics, with a track record of lifting achievement.

The delivery of Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA) is an advantage.Has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for inspiring students.Is willing to contribute fully to the corporate life of the school, embracing the many opportunities for service and leadership.ResponsibilitiesRole based on junior school teaching needs in a NE / Y1 classroom, including delivering effective literacy and numeracy instruction and contributing to the school community in line with the Catholic character of the school.Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in junior school settings.
• Experience with Pasifika communities and building relationships with students, whanau, and parish.
