We work in partnership with mana whenua Ngai Tahu to protect the health of our environment to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for our region.

Our mahi (work) is organised around the delivery of our three core services :
Environmental Regulation and Protection
Community Preparedness and Response to Hazards
Public Transport
The successful candidate will
Support the establishment and maintenance of professional and technical Resource Management Act standards and practices within the Regional Compliance functions of Environment Canterbury.
Provide technical leadership, advice and support in relation to compliance and enforcement work programmes and decision making.
Build capability and sustainable management within the Canterbury Region.

Ideally you'll have
A post-graduate Science, Engineering, or Resource Management related qualification
A proven history of practical in-field RMA compliance and enforcement.
A work history in managing or regulating wastewater and stormwater, water takes or rural issues.
The ability to effectively train and mentor field staff within compliance functions.
The ability to work in a dynamic and reactive environment, and be resilient.
A minimum of eight years experience in RMA Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement, and / or earthworks and land disturbance management, wastewater / stormwater management, or rural management.
Evidenced ability to be recognised by peers as a leader and innovator in compliance monitoring and enforcement in their technical field
