Lims Data Specialist

Overview

Do you have a keen eye for detail, a knack for systems thinking, and experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)?

We are looking for a LIMS Data Specialist to join our team and ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant setup and maintenance of testing requirements within LabWare.

This pivotal role supports laboratory operations by translating technical testing needs into efficient, system-based configurations, enabling seamless sample processing and reliable data capture.

You will collaborate closely with laboratory teams, demonstrating excellent stakeholder management and strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and maintain accurate product specifications in LabWare LIMS.

Support system updates and ensure data aligns with approved testing methods.

Collaborate with labs and external partners to manage testing requirements and turnaround times.

Maintain consistency in master data across internal and external labs.

Monitor and address issues via the Laboratory Service Desk system.

Troubleshoot and escalate complex LIMS issues as needed.

Identify and recommend improvements to workflows and system use.

Track and assess costs related to testing or specification changes.

Skills and Experience

Tertiary qualification in Science, Food Technology, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or quality assurance environment.

Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, analytical testing, and external lab coordination.

Proven experience with LabWare or a similar LIMS – including data entry, maintenance, and configuration.

Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

Proven ability to work independently.
