Assistant Restaurant Manager – Bush Inn, ChristchurchWe are looking for a motivated and reliable Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team at our Bush Inn restaurant in Christchurch City.

This is a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week position, with an hourly rate between $

About the Role

As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient daily operation of the restaurant.

You will lead by example, deliver outstanding customer service, and help create a positive and professional working environment for all staff.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily restaurant operations.

Handle materials and ensure safe storage of food ingredients.

Estimate food consumption and ensure the timely availability of fresh ingredients.

Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure an uninterrupted supply.

Monitor and improve customer satisfaction through regular feedback.

Ensure all staff adhere to company policies, uniform standards, and hygiene requirements.

Manage reservations, greet guests, and handle phone or online orders.

Ensure orders are taken accurately and delivered promptly.

Maintain high health, safety, and food hygiene standards in compliance with food regulations.

Oversee the cleanliness, presentation, and functionality of the dining area.

Support and organize marketing activities, promotions, and discount programs.

Train, supervise, and monitor staff performance.

Check the quality of food deliveries and stock on arrival.

Handle cash and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system confidently.

Manage restaurant supplies including tableware, kitchen tools, and cleaning materials.

Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and staff.

Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.

Respond to phone and in-person enquiries in a polite and timely manner.

Skills and Experience

A mature, responsible attitude

Relevant qualification at level 4 and above or at least 6 months of relevant experience

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high service standards.
