The Distribution and Queenstown Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all dispatch, delivery and depot operations for the Queenstown region. This role ensures the smooth flow of freight in and out of the Queenstown depot, maintaining high standards of accuracy, communication, and service delivery. The position is focused on coordinating staff, managing dispatch procedures, maintaining labelling and freight systems and ensuring on‑time performance across all delivery teams.

The pay range for this role is between $30 - $35 per hour depending on experience.

We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week.

We require the successful candidate to have a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience either in a packing and distributions, logistics, courier or distribution operations type role.

Excellent communication and organisation skills are required with the ability to work under pressure and manage fast‑paced operations.

You will be required to hold a valid NZ Drivers License (class 1) for this position.

Duties will include :

• Oversee daily dispatch operations to ensure accurate, efficient and timely freight movement.
• Maintain and improve dispatch procedures to support fast and reliable deliveries.
• Ensure all freight is labelled, scanned and processed correctly in line with AZAP Couriers standards.
• Monitor delivery routes and workflow to maximise efficiency and service quality.
• Manage the overall operations of the Queenstown depot including ingoing and outgoing freight.
• Ensure all freight arriving into the depot is sorted, processed and allocated correctly.
• Coordinate with lineal teams, drivers and partner depots to maintain seamless freight flow.
• Maintain a clean, organised and compliant depot environment.
• Lead, support and manage depot staff involved in freight collection, processing and dispatch.
• Ensure clear communication with the delivery teams, providing daily updates, instructions and guidance.
• Provide ongoing training to staff to maintain consistent operational standards.
• Manage performance, scheduling and staffing requirements as needed.
• Ensure all deliveries meet AZAP Couriers service expectations and timeframes.
• Maintain accurate records, scanning and tracking processes.
• Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to avoid delays or miscommunication.
• Uphold all health and safety requirements ensuring safe working practices across the depot.
