You'll receive great support and guidance from our Community Engagement team to ensure you have everything you need to succeed in this rewarding role.
Requirements
Are passionate about the health and wellbeing of local communities and interested in how Hato Hone St John can make a difference.
Understand, or are open to learning about, Equity for Maori, with a commitment to growing personal cultural competence.
Have strong local connections and excellent communication and networking skills to expand community reach and engagement.
Think creatively, collaborate effectively, and build partnerships both within and outside the organisation.
Have strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
Area Committee Members must be 18+ years and reside within Central Auckland or have a strong connection to the area.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
The commitment varies on the portfolio but mostly a couple of hours a week and a monthly meeting.
