About the role

We’re on the lookout for new Intermediate and Senior Civil Engineers to join our Land Development team in Auckland. If you're looking to play a key role in the design and delivery of major land development projects, we'd love to hear from you.

We have an exciting forward workload including large-scale greenfield and brownfield residential developments, infrastructure, commercial and industrial developments that shape the future of our local communities. You will :

  • Provide technical expertise and design solutions (12D and Civil 3D) to deliver a range of complex civil engineering projects from initial concept design through to construction completion.
  • Ensure efficient project delivery while being hands-on with preliminary designs, supervising detailed designs, calculations, plan and on-site investigations.
  • Maintain existing client relationships and contribute towards business development initiatives such as identifying opportunities and writing proposals to enhance HG’s future project prospects.
  • Guide and coach junior team members in an environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements within our industry and contribute towards the adoption of new technologies to enhance our digital intelligence capabilities.
  • Play a key role in shaping better urban development for a diverse range of public and private clients across Aotearoa.

About you

Whether you are already an experienced Senior Engineer or an Intermediate Engineer looking to take the next step in your career, we welcome you to apply or reach out for a discussion. Our ideal candidate will have :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of New Zealand-based Land Development experience within complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
  • CPEng is an advantage or working towards chartership.
  • Proficiency in 12d design software is preferred, though experience with Civil 3D is also welcomed.
  • Knowledge of local council codes, guidelines and consenting processes.
  • Personal leadership, motivation, and self-management skills.
