Job Summary

Painters prepare surfaces and apply paint and other finishes to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examining and preparing surfaces to be painted, including cleaning, scraping, and

sanding.

  • Filling cracks, holes, and gaps with putty or plaster to create a smooth surface.
  • Mixing and matching paint colors to achieve desired hues and finishes.
  • Applying paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Erecting and dismantling scaffolding and ladders as needed for the job.
  • Removing old paint by stripping, sandblasting, or using heat guns.
  • Applying textured finishes, or using decorative painting techniques.
  • Ensuring proper safety measures are taken to protect the worksite and environment.
  • Cleaning and maintaining painting tools, equipment, and work areas.

    • Job requirement : applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job

  • NZQF Level 4 qualification, OR
  • At least two years of working experience in relevant industry
  • Knowledge of painting techniques and surface preparation.
  • Precision and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work at heights.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
