Overview

Mercy Hospital is seeking motivated new graduate Anaesthetic Technicians to join our perioperative team. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in a supportive and professional environment where ongoing learning and development are valued. In this position you will provide clinical and technical assistance to the Anaesthetist and contribute to the maintenance of high quality and safe administration of anaesthesia and patient care including support to the theatre team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, technical and clinical assistance to Anaesthetists.
  • Provide safe administration of anaesthesia to patients under direct supervision.
  • Anticipate problems and exceptional patient care.
  • Co-ordinate documentation to ensure the patient receives effective care.
  • Participation in quality improvement processes and activities.

This is a permanent, full-time (1 FTE, 40 hours per week) position. Hours to be worked on a Monday to Friday roster.

Skills and Experience

  • Recently completed (or soon to complete) a recognised qualification in Anaesthetic Technology
  • Demonstrate sound professional judgement and an ability to practice in a culturally safe manner.
  • Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm and a proactive, flexible attitude.
  • To be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.
