We’re looking for a like-minded individual who enjoys working with an enthusiastic, committed, and fun-loving team, is a good listener, and enjoys solving issues for clients.
  • Responsibilities
  • SLR is seeking to grow our Land Quality and Remediation business in the Central North Island, and to deliver great outcomes for our current clients. We are seeking a person with a passion for contaminated land management, earth sciences, and / or contaminated hydrogeology, to work with likeminded individuals, whilst enjoying excellent career opportunities across a range of industry sectors.This role will involve working on or assisting with contaminated land and groundwater management projects, including preparation of offers of service, conducting field work, managing projects, and preparing technical reports. In addition to the delivery of technical work, you will also be responsible for assisting with the growth and development of the Land Quality and Remediation business, helping to consolidate relationships with existing clients, actively looking for new opportunities (including cross selling other SLR services), and helping to manage the input of other staff on projects.A key theme we wish to develop is the ethos of delivery of pragmatic solutions to help clients achieve their desired outcomes in a cost-effective manner and provide first rate customer service. Sustainable growth relies on maintaining strong existing customer relationships, and therefore the role requires ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained and fostering the role of SLR as a ‘trusted advisor’.
  • Skills and experience
  • You will also possess the following skills :
  • A professional qualification in environmental science or engineering or other relevant degree and circa 5+ years professional experience in consulting or similar industry role
  • Proven capability in environmental / contamination management (soil and groundwater) / remediation (soil and groundwater), closed landfill management.
  • Ability to manage risks on projects through sound project management, clear client communication, and identification and escalation of potential project risks.
  • Ability to accurately interpret analytical data, proven technical report writing skills and high computer literacy including data management and manipulation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent driving history and hold a current unrestricted driver's license.
  • New Zealand Citizenship or rights to work in New Zealand.
