About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator to join our small but dedicated payroll team of two in Highbrook - you and the Payroll Manager.
Together, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 450 employees across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your knowledge and expertise in payroll processing within a supportive and professional environment.
Maintaining strict confidentiality while delivering high-quality payroll service and support is key.
Key responsibilities include :
Accurate processing of payroll data and maintenance of employee records
Timely investigation of payroll discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance
Logging payroll enquiries and prompt escalation to the Payroll Manager for resolution
Ensuring all changes are supported by correct documentation and systematically filed
Support payroll system entries, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
About You
You're keen to grow your payroll skills in a supportive and professional setting.
You work well with people at all levels, handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
You have strong attention to detail, take pride in accuracy, and are comfortable following established processes.
You're organised, trusted and able to manage your workload efficiently while ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
You have a team-focused attitude with good communication and interpersonal skills.
In addition to the above, you will have :
Minimum two years of NZ payroll administration experience
Awareness of payroll legislation including Holidays Act, PAYE, KiwiSaver
High attention to detail and strong numeracy and data accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite - at least intermediate level
Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g. Affinity) is an advantageous - training will be provided.
