Wehave an exciting opportunity for two Healthcare Assistants to join our team ina casual capacity at Kurawaka Waipapa – Birthing Unit located in centralChristchurch.

AHealthcare Assistant is an integral part of our team. We are looking forcandidates who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, a positiveattitude and the ability to use their initiative. You will be responsible for :

• Assisting staff in providing quality patient care
• Assisting in keeping the patient’s environment cleanand tidy
• Ensuring the ward is appropriately stocked
• Maintaining a safe working environment at all times

Aboutthe Service

KurawakaWaipapa is a birthing unit with 4 birthing rooms containing birthing pools and20 postnatal rooms.

TheCanterbury Waitaha and West Coast Te Tai o Poutini Maternity System has adynamic, dedicated and specialised team of health professionals working withinboth our purpose built, secondary / tertiary maternity facilities and ourCommunity Birthing Units.

• Healthcare Assistant experience in a similarenvironment
• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Level3 (desirable)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational, time management andproblem-solving skills
• Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention todetail
• Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised as wellas in a team
