About the Job

We are seeking a capable and resourceful Senior Contract Specialist to join our Supply Chain Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global team working on complex, high-impact projects across New Zealand . This role will ideally be located in Wellington or Auckland .

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement effective contracting strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager with subcontracting strategies and planning.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contract documentation.
  • Lead contract formation and post-award contract administration, including variations, claims, payments, and performance management.
  • Interface directly with clients, suppliers, and contractors to develop robust commercial packages.
  • Monitor and report on cost and schedule impacts related to procurement activities.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and support project teams with contractual correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate registers, documentation, and templates.

What You’ll Have

  • A university degree in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle procurement – from enquiry to contract award and post-award management.
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC, NZS 3910 / 3916, NEC 3 / 4, or similar standard forms of contract.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation, execution, and administration.
  • Ability to identify commercial risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
