THE ROLE

Wyma has always had a strong R&D focus keeping its products at the forefront of its global market. This role has emerged over time as more and more automation and vision requirements are built into Wyma’s machinery. Previously this work has been undertaken by contract resource under the guidance of the R&D and Automation teams.
There is a steady range of software development initiatives that need to be undertaken for Wyma's existing Automation, Vision and Robotic projects. You will be involved in reviewing the technical IT architecture for how the software is utilized and accessed, what the development platform should be, what the software should run on, etc.
There is a strong commercialization focus with this role, working with the wider R&D and Automation teams to identify initiatives where Wyma can add greater value to a client by utilizing software i.e. utilizing data captured from the machinery, implementing mobile apps tied to the machinery, assessing what part AI may play in the future for these machines, standardizing the software within the cloud, etc.
SKILLS
The personal fit is very important for this role. We need you to be a person of confidence and a willing motivated mentor for software development initiatives to the wider R&D and Automation teams.
Being a senior level role, we are asking for a lot in one person, but it will be a combination of the right core experience combined with you being able to highlight why you will quickly pick up areas which might be new to you. Ideally you will have several of the following attributes :
